You might also avoid music with very sweeping melodies that can become ear worms, even without words. Tchaikovsky and Beethoven melodies turn into ear worms very easily, while Debussy, Faure, and Chopin are lovely but not tuneful in the same way.

Try starting with YouTube or Spotify collections of opera arias (songs). No shame in skipping to the next piece if you don't like something! When you find a piece or singer who catches your attention, search for more of that.

What kind of music do you like to listen to? If you like pop, then very melodic composers like Puccini or Massenet are a good start. If you're more of a rock person, then you might like Verdi and Beethoven. If you like complex music, Mozart and Handel are great.
