next up is The Shining, which I haven't read since I was....17? I'm psyched for that. Then I'll break with their format and read Doctor Sleep, which I haven't read yet. Then The Long Walk (also haven't read) and an It re-read. But the format of the podcast helps and I'm tearing through these books
not yet but it is on my list. I found the Kingslingers podcast and I'm going through the books they did in the order they read them (they started with the Dark Tower books). I'm almost done re-reading The Stand "with" them, which is an all-time favorite book for me. Fairy Tale is coming

I really enjoyed trying to pick out which parts I knew King wrote and which seemed more Straubian (with my very limited knowledge of him). I think I heard they tried to write like each other a few times too

well....KIND OF. They call Wind Through the Keyhole Book 8, but I wouldn't go that far. Same with Eyes of the Dragon. Insomnia just deals with a lot of the same stuff and the tower itself. Black House and Talisman are very DT-related but not part of the series. (PS, Book 4 is my favorite!)
I was really surprised at how much I loved The Talisman! I definitely liked all five though. My favorite of all the Dark Tower stuff is still Wizard and Glass, though. Some of King's best writing
what finally got me to start Dark Tower after a lot of delay was reading Hearts in Atlantis, actually. Low Men in Yellow Coats especially; I thought that was terrific. I didn't hate Insomnia at all but the abortion/DV stuff was...tough, and it made Ralph tough to love for me (which I know is unfair)

I loved it. As with most dark content it hits a little close to home these days, but I loved it all (except Insomnia). All things serve the beam.
