The plants take 2 to 3 years to get established, and then they produce stalks every spring and fall for 20 or more years. Each spear can grow many inches each day, so when they are in season, they are super plentiful.

Our first crocus of the year! Most of the forest is still covered in a few feet of snow, yet the initial signs of spring are starting to show πŸ˜€πŸŒΈπŸŒ±

Planting seeds of hope β€οΈπŸŒ±πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Even in these uncertain and stressful times, I plant these seeds and look towards the future - knowing that there is still good in the world, but that it needs to be tended and cared for. Let's all do our part and work together to grow hope, not dispair.

Water the seedlings/plants deeply and not too often. I usually water deeply 1 to 3 times a week at the very base of the plants (even during heat waves). It makes the root systems stronger and more resistant to rot and disease as well as hold onto water better. Good luck! 😊🌱
