Don't waste facts on this fella, Kev. He seems a little bit slow.

Mark, we've got 4 fit CMs and we're playing with 3, and 1 fit striker who's barely proven himself in the EPL. In what world does that make the squad stronger than before?

Exactly my point. We're priced out due to wages, which is a PSR issue. And if you look at the rest of the league, outside the big six, no one's exactly blowing the doors off with signings. We're shopping with teams like Villa and it's telling that even they haven't landed a big-name signing yet.

Honest question and hoping I won't be lambasted as a silly, deluded c*n, but which non-top 6 clubs are impressing you with their transfers this window? Can't think of any myself. Not making excuses, just saying the market's been tough on us, which in itself is a PSR problem (wages).

Oh man, the hypocrisy is glaring. I'm as comfortable as I can be with my moral choices, but you seem pretty torn up. You really do need to "Try to be better'."

So, you're happy to take the blood money. Thanks for confirming.

I suppose you'll be donating the Saudi money you receive from Darwin to human rights causes then? You couldn't possibly take it? Could you?

Andrew, respectfully, in any other industry, a governing body wouldn't dictate a company's pay structure. But Premier League does. So, PSR is not an excuse, it's a reality that is preventing a very wealthy ownership group from paying a huge talent his worth. It's not that difficult to understand.

01.08.2025 21:33 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

FFP's not even on the radar for us here. We've got no executive structure to make smart investments with the huge windfall we'd gain, so selling is not the issue. Like I said from the start, we don't need to offload him. For what it's with, he'll probably still sign, just maybe not this window.

Yes, that's double face palm. And yes, you've used it incorrectly. Move on.

Not in terms of assets, but the oil's good for another 60-70 years. Doesn't change the fact it's irrelevant now. In any other industry, a governing body wouldn't dictate a company's pay structure. But hey, that's the Premier League for you โ€“ where logic takes a backseat and it protects "Big Six".

People who quote "small dick energy" have usually experienced it themselves. But I can see that your "trying to be better" and so will I.

A PSR cheat code, yes, but with no footballing structure in place, the club can't even utilise a big sale properly at present, so there's no point in even entertaining a PSR win for us right now.

A PSR cheat code, yes, but with no footballing structure in place, the club can't even utilise a big sale properly at present. For what it's worth, I still think you sign him, but let's be real, the club's financial situation shouldn't be a factor in the decision.

I don't choose what inflatable bananas own the club. In fact, I'd much rather NUFC was owned by an inflatable unicorn. Point is, PIF's potential financial loss shouldn't matter here; the real loss would be the player, not the cash difference (1)

PIF (NUFCs owners, if that hadn't occured to you) are arguably the largest sovereign wealth fund on Mother Earth. Tell me, what planet are you from?

The club should not be waiting to sign a new CB or waiting to sign a CM to replace Longstaff, heck to replace Elliot Anderson from 12 months ago. The Isak saga and our failure to pursue other positions are not mutually exclusive.

Not sure why we've stalled on that deal. In context, Pickford cost Everton ยฃ30m, 8 seasons ago. It's an absolute own goal if buggered it. Wissa will be nice plug and play singing though and is smart business.

23.07.2025 09:40 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Great insight. I think he's a safe signing with no major risks, but not the one to help us overcome low blocks โ€“ which would have been our preferred striker type - although I suspect we're onto Plan D by now!

Mark, does anyone know the exact reason for Mitchell's exit? Howe's comments this weekend imply he was blindsided, which contradicts the conflict rumors. Could Mitchell have got fed up with PIF's disinterest and threw in the towel?

20.07.2025 13:42 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

100%. The reality is we are shopping for the same pool of players as clubs like Villa and it's telling they're still empty-handed. The overseas market is weak this year, and it's not our fault the players we've targeted have opted for other moves.

19.07.2025 10:27 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's obvious we're taking things one deal at a time due to the lack of structure at the top. Rumors about PIF having to intervene in the Elanga deal just to push it through aren't exactly confidence-inspiring, but we'll get the job done and fill the gaps we need to.

17.07.2025 18:29 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The difference is clear: we've made a genuine bid, while you've got hacks spreading rumors to unsettle a player into a deal without actually putting in an offer. It's a desperate move, especially since the player seems competent nonplussed in joining you anyway.

A confidence player with limitations, who'll likely do ok in a lower-end team. Had some key moments in a NUFC jersey and bowed out with grace. That's about it. Your take is putrid, and so is your account โ€“ the ultimate Debbie Downer.
