I didn't mean for this to turn into a rant, but here we are. Here is a picture of two of our cats to end this on a positive note.

The reason I still use Twitter: Every "mass exodus" I have seen from accounts I follow ends up with them coming back to using Twitter and forgetting about the current new thing.
So I can either move here fully and lose access or curate my feed to my liking.

Basically a lot of complaints I see from people about social media are because they want things spoon fed to them, but then hate what they get. It would be like a vegetarian walking into a chef's table and being pissed that they get a steak.

It is fine to have civil discussions with people, which I hope this falls into, but shouting into the void or arguing with bots isn't going to benefit people in any way. Your energy can be used for way more productive things in life.

Block the idiots instead of arguing with them.
Block the accounts you don't care for instead of interacting with them.
Mute things your friends love but you don't care about.
If you have friends that are crossing lines, then end that friendship.

I think the key to satisfactory social media use is curation of your feed/working the algorithms you use. Some examples of things I do:

I understand your hatred of Twitter and fully agree that the algorithm is bad in they way that it is designed for default behavior. I rarely use the "For You" feature, and mainly keep to my feed. This means I rarely experience these types of things that people always complain about.

From system icons tray, I can expand the blue tooth section and toggle there.
