Thousands of San Diego registered nurses will spend the holiday on the strike line as Sharp HealthCare continues to deny a fair contract that puts patient care first
SAN DIEGO, CA – One of the largest health care strikes San Diego has seen in decades will unfold during one of the busiest weeks of the year for hospitals.
Over the week of Thanksgiving, 5,700 registered nurses at Sharp HealthCare and a second unit of 127 health care professionals, comprised of pharmacists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, medical social workers, registered dietitians and speech-language pathologists, will strike against San Diego’s largest health care system, calling for management to protect patient care by investing in the frontline professionals who care for them.
The strike will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, and end when workers walk back into their facilities at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025. Picket lines will run for different time periods each day.
