Funerals held for students and staff after Iran school strike Iranian authorities say they were killed in a US-Israeli strike in the city of Minab on Saturday.

A school shooting with even 1 innocent victim is tragic & horrific.

A school BOMBING with 150+ innocent victims is beyond conventional moral characterisation.

Nobody held accountable.
Not Trump.
Not Netanyahu.
Not Hegseth.
Nobody.

May Godโ€™s justice have final word. ๐Ÿ™

To the extent that the Church (at all levels) functions as an ACTUAL community, most/all current challenges can & will be resolved - including women's role in the community's life & leadership.

To the extent that 'Church as community' is merely notional, these issues will remain unresolved.

Synodality Study Group 5 - Final Report on 'The participation of women in the life and leadership of the Church': www.synod.va/content/dam/...

I must confess to finding it disappointing. I'd have liked to see a greater emphasis on Church as COMMUNITY. The notably muted reaction doesn't surprise me.

The European 'ego conquiro' [I conquer] preceded the Other-annihilating 'ego cogito'. From 1492, it migrated across the Atlantic.
E. Dussel: "Before the ego cogito there
is an ego conquiro ... The center has imposed itself on the periphery for more than five centuries".

Hopefully, U.S. voters will get out there and do something in November's midterm elections ... before it's too late!

Cardinals McElroy and Cupich denounce Iran war: โ€˜War now has become a spectator sport.โ€™ โ€œA real war with real death and real suffering being treated like itโ€™s a video gameโ€”itโ€™s sickening,โ€ Cardinal Blase Cupich said.

โ€œOur government is treating the suffering of the Iranian people as a backdrop for our own entertainment,โ€ he wrote, โ€œas if itโ€™s just another piece of content to be swiped through while weโ€™re waiting in line at the grocery store.โ€

Why lessons from a CIA coup in Iran should haunt Trump The story of modern Iran begins with a CIA coup in 1953 - and its lessons should haunt Donald Trump, writes Deputy Foreign Editor Edmund Heaphy.

Bitter break-up for Trump and Starmer - but polling suggests PM on side of public opinion It's been a long time since Sir Keir Starmer has found himself so firmly on the side of public opinion.

"For many in the Labour Party - and beyond - Blair is the very last person who should be giving advice on following American presidents into wars in the Middle East. His criticism of Starmer is therefore something of a godsend for the current PM"

Tony Blair Slams Keir Starmer For Not Backing Trump's War On Iran The former PM said the UK should have stood by its "indispensable ally".

Starmer's refusal to be bullied into joining an illegal, immoral, murderous crusade in the Middle East is to be commended.

Standing up to Trump - however timidly - is to Starmer's credit.

Blair, complicit in killing 100,000+ innocent Iraqis, is utterly shameless.

The Mad Kingโ€™s War Trumpโ€™s war in Iran violates the Constitution, international law, and just-war principles. It has no clear objectives and no exit strategy.

Mad indeed!
Yet neither the U.S. Senate nor House of Representatives is willing to rein him in. Other potentially authoritative voices - including U.N. and religious leadership - are barely heard. May God help the world!

โ€˜I donโ€™t need international lawโ€™: Trump says power constrained only by โ€˜my own moralityโ€™ President says morality โ€˜the only thing that can stop meโ€™ in New York Times interview on limits to his authority

Trump makes no effort to disguise his contempt for international law. Referencing "my own morality" seems like a sick joke.
This is the obscenity now confronting fragile democratic institutions, both international & within the United States.
Much prayer needed! ๐Ÿ™
