They’re doing this. Trump just does what he wants without asking Congress for anything. The only recourse from that is the courts, which are doing what they can. They have shut down DHS, which will start to bite soon.

Sadly there is much more we can still do to harm Ukraine.

I predict at some point Trump and Putin will reach a “grand bargain” where Russia provides the US with a face saving exit from Iran in exchange for the US betraying Ukraine to Russia.

Tried, sure. But hung? The way to restore the rule of law is not by making up the law as we go along. There is no crime under our law that carries a penalty of hanging.

Taxes should be sharply progressive. But everyone should have a stake in their government and the services it provides.

Obstructing things is a lot easier than actually accomplishing anything. And it’s even harder when you have a President who ignores Congress and the law. Have you noticed there is a partial government shutdown? That is what they can do now.

Expose it? What else would you have the minority party do? They don’t have the votes to pass laws.

The people of the United States also have an opportunity for regime change if they choose to take it.

There are an awful lot of parents who just ignore their kids, and expect the schools to teach them everything they need to know. And then they get mad at the schools if their kids don’t become fully formed adults.

These people have convinced themselves that they’re irreplaceable. But as someone once said, the cemeteries are full of people who thought they were irreplaceable. Old people (myself included) need to step aside and let someone else take the wheel.

They no longer teach cursive anymore, so most kids don’t have signatures. They either print their names or scribble something.

You don’t think a prosperous America with an abundance of green jobs, health care available to everyone, and a flowering of new infrastructure projects is a vision for the future?

If it is so obvious why do we so often hear people say that bombing will destroy the enemy’s will to fight? They’ve been saying that since WW2.

Isn’t all that gambling more a sign of decadence and desperation than of prosperity?

Why is this a bombshell? It is well documented that Trump has been settling with accusers for many, many years.

Yes if they’re written by idiots.

My favorite are the lawyers who use a variety of font sizes, bold and italic to keep their writing interesting.

Should he have used a smaller glove than every other outfielder of his time? Maybe he should have travelled by train while his teammates flew to the next town.

This piece convinces me that the breakdown of American society began when Burger King introduced “Have it your way” in 1974.

When Congress takes a vacation they always remain in a pro forma session, so it’s not likely there would ever be a pocket veto.

By law, not the dictionary, treason is levying war against the United States or giving aid and comfort to its enemies. And “enemies” means countries we’re at war with.

But on the other hand, if he’s elected he would replace Markwayne Mullin as the only Senator without a college degree.

When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.” “The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.” “The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master — that’s all.”

And why aren’t the 38% who support eternal darkness represented in government, despite their importance as a voting bloc?

I think Bari Weiss will give the most balanced take on this issue at CBS News.
