Can we please stop acting like we have no choice other than to accept AI in everything? All this "It's here, just accept it" nonsense. Lots of bad things have been "here" and gone. Saying no is a thing. No matter what the half dozen billionaires behind this whole scheme need us to believe.

I think a lot of our current moment comes down to entitled privileged in some way people refusing any form of disagreement and being hyperfocused on their comfort and their ego. Anything discomforting like say having their bigoted views challenged is a threat to be removed.

I also think its not a mistake that it reflects how a lot of right wing spaces recruit people by constantly validating their worst ideas and feelings. They then further isolate because its just easier to avoid any sort of growth or introspection and constantly hear how great you are.

They struggle to deal with disagreement because they get extremely used to constant validation from what they interpret as a person. Its honestly very sad to see. I think instant gratification and constant validation can become very harmful and help push people toward their worst beliefs.

One thing I've noticed about people who heavily use llm's is they get really frustrated that people don't just validate them and whatever nonsense they're saying and then act extremely entitled to having the person agree with them.
