Always scared to bet on the Clippers given Kawhi's health and Harden's playoff inconsistency. Rockets vs. Warriors is series I am most excited about tbh. Feel like Houston's late game struggles might catch them, but would love to see them breakthrough with such a fun young squad.

There are so many possible playoff scenarios in the west 4-8 that it is utterly useless trying to figure it out now. It is just pure chaos at this point.

Hours later and I still can't believe the Mavericks traded Luka Doncic 8 months after he led them to the NBA Finals.

Luka Doncic will miss at least 1 month per Shams Charania. The Mavericks have 17 games over that stretch, which means no All-NBA or MVP for Doncic this season.

Luka Doncic (heel) will not play on Thursday versus the LA Clippers.

Embiid returning vs. team with fastest pace in NBA is interesting. So far, he is 0-4 from the field with a turnover. Worth watching how he gets up and down the floor against the Bulls this afternoon.

Luka Doncic out Friday with a wrist injury. The absence for however long it lasts could be a chance for him to get right and return in MVP form.

Take of the day: Mavericks are fine, but need Luka Doncic to lock in and return to MVP form to be serious contenders. He was hurt in the preseason and is still shaking off the rust/playing his way into shape. Better days ahead for Dallas.
