Sonic 3 was really good! I don't know if I can really put all my thoughts down well, but watching the first 2 movies was definitely a good call I think. I'd recommend anyone planning to see the third movie to do the same.

I'm sure I'll break down my thoughts later when I figure them out.

I think it's probably a very smart decision to just focus on Shadow for the next film. Asking a lot to flesh out Tails & Knuckles all in one film, and while one shined a LOT, another was half-baked imo.

Sonic 2 is easily an 8/10 for me. Easily better than the first. Still got gripes with how constrained Tails was. Think if they had an extra 20-30 minutes of ups & downs tracking down the compass to let him breathe, it'd fix everything.

Everything else I can't complain too much. Excited for Sonic 3!

I always really liked how disappointed Sonic is at Eggman. Knowing there is NOTHING he can do to win him over. He'll always just be a rotten egg.

I do hope the third movie gives lots of good character moments for Tails & Knuckles. I know there's gonna be a lot of attention on Sonic vs Shadow and for good reason, but the ending fight for this movie I thought was very well done. Just hope that it has moments for each character to shine.

10/10 way to close the 2nd act. Everything landed for me. The fight, Robotnik's laugh. The "Chaos is Power" line. Sonic & Knuckles reconciling. All REALLY good. I'll even concede to Tails saying "Only Sonic the Hedgehog needs rescuing THIS much" as a character builder for his confidence. Great stuff

Hearing him say "Gotta go fast" here still takes me out a bit, and definitely something I was dreading after how much I liked it in the first movie, but I'm sure it made a lot of people happy. I'm fine if it wasn't for me.

I can respect the complaints that the rescuing Sonic & Tails bit took way too long. It absolutely does feel that way even on second watch, but it definitely isn't experience ruining.

I would say this was a wasted opportunity to not have Rachel do an Akira slide on the golf cart, but with the hindsight of Shadow in the next movie it makes sense.

Alright yeah, Commander Walters is THE best character in the franchise and it's not even fucking close. I can not fucking WAIT to what kind of WEIRD shit he does in the third movie.

It's the little things again. It's really cool seeing the plane at what first looks like an easter egg at the wedding only for Tails to pilot the same plane later. Good shit.

Actually really liked the parallels of Tom's words to Sonic

His quips are so fucking annoy in the BEST way. Another complaint I heard is how cringy all his references are, but honestly, it's a great way to illustrate his character. He's such an rascal in every other media, I think the pop culture insults are a good translation to a movie version of him.

ALSO THIS ANIMATED PART WAS SICK. Was also fine by me how they played around with the lore for emeralds.

Someone on the team did this ending part PERFECTLY tho, 10/10

Also the bar scene ain't all that bad here, but it sure ain't great. Probably just an in movie reason to get some Sonic & Tails dancing for promotional stuff and not much else. May also contribute a bit to the Tails problem since that's where his story got mostly crammed.
