Storage units are a scam. They've raised my rate 2x in the last year and now it's double what I started at. It's the size of a closet. When I called the local manager he was able to magically get a "rent delay" but the real kicker is that he's not even the one who raises the rate, it's Big Storage.
May this man never find me
I've been slacking on my trout Tuesday because I caught this beauty in NM at the Vermejo Park Ranch Flyathlon! It's a Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout, a species the ranch and NM Parks and wildlife have worked painstakingly to restore their native populations. Such a beauty.
The mushroom 🍄
Tale as old as time, the pretty things never pay for dinner.
Mushroom Monday! This is not a mushroom, it's Spotted Coralroot (corallorhiza maculata). They look a lot like orchids and do not rely on photosynthesis, rather, they rely on fungi for nutrients (myco-heterotrophic dependence).

Trout Tuesday! On Saturday I'll be in New Mexico fishing for Rio Grande Cutthroat!
It was divine!!!
Are we ready for mushroom Monday? Ben and I collected a ton of pristine King Bolete mushrooms to make a miso mushroom pasta. Sauteed in rice vinegar provided by @wolfspokes.bsky.social
Trout Tuesday!! I'm racing the Vermejo Park Flyathlon in NM on July 12! 10 miles, exclusively Rio grande cutthroat, and a definite good time. Still raising money for Running Rivers!
And they Appear miraculously overnight. And they disappear in like a day. And they're fun to touch
Mushroom Monday! Found my first Aspen Bolete over the weekend! Left it behind because it is illegal to collect in state parks. Note, it does not harm the mushrooms ability to spread its spores by picking it!
Ending the Roadless Rule is a public lands catastrophe. It opens up some of the last pristine places up for extractive industries. We lose wilderness, they profit, we get stuck with the clean up bill. EVERY TIME.
An old growth forest is worth much more than 2x4s and toilet paper. RIP the Tongass
Lair o' the Bear!!
We're back for trout Tuesday!! Caught this brown on the Frying Pan, Ben always gets after me for setting the hook wrong but I always panic 😅
The fishing was so good I skipped dinner and walked until 9 pm.
Itty bitty baby Pygmy Nuthatch on my hike with my Dad yesterday. Probably just jumped out of the nest. My stupid camera wouldn't focus on his cuteness.
As my dog gets more fit, she pulls me with less effort. As she pulls me with less effort, I have to run faster to get a decent workout. Are we doomed to just run faster and faster until our legs fall off??
Hard to say but Ben and I struggle with the same. There seems to be little opportunity because mocktails almost look like "I wish I was drinking". Ice cream never disappoints though.
Trout Tuesday where I definitely caught a brown trout yesterday and failed to get a picture but here's my cool new Coors Banquet reel from Ross Reels that I won at NASCARP to make up for it
Did you have to do a poo in central park?
NASCARP 2025 was a success! We ran 3 laps, chugged 3 Mexican lagers (rimmed with sponsoring BBQ rub), and attempted to catch 3 fish! All while raising money for native trout conservation!!
A recap of my burro race! Lucy and I had so much fun on a technical course, and the weather held out!
#donkeys #burroracing
Trout Tuesdayyyy!! This Saturday is our NASCARP race and we have our jerseys! Alex and I will be running for trout conservation and praying for survival.
3 laps
3 fish
3 beers.
Museums are an underappreciated space in adulthood.
Anna, Turbo, and I found a mossy elm log piled high with golden oyster mushrooms
Trout Tuesday already? I might start running out of trout pictures and I'll tell you right now I'm running out of patience the way I'm working in a cubicle and not fishing RN.
