Bonafide evidence to strip your life of hasslers. This has been my approach to working life this year. Stop engaging.

Unflinching refusal to use or allow the use of A.I. in reading & writing should be the uncontroversial, default position of teachers from K-12 to colleges & universities. If our administrators tell us we "have to" we tell them to eff off. We will not kill the planet's water for systemic plagiarism.

The utterance of "A.I.'s inevitability" is one of the most stark pure performatives I've seen in my time working in higher ed. Every time it is uttered, it is clearly not reporting a fact about the world but instead actively trying to create the reality it narrates. We can and must refuse.

Thrilled to see this paper finally out in #BJS, which delves into the work of getting work on project-based platforms. It's hard work! Often invisible, affective and always gendered #Sociology @bjsociology.bsky.social

Whatever my uni declares, I am not going to engage with AI. I am not going to use AI or teach students to use it. I am going to continue to explain to students why it is harmful. Absolutely absurd to allow this anti-intellectual, environmentally devastating technology into the university at all.

Question: Can straight men even have fun without making it a commodity?

Jane Austen used 'however' at the beginning of a sentence, and so can you.

I got promoted to Associate Professor this week. I'm putting it on all my socials because it took 7 months for the outcome to be decided (not to mention the hard work). And I'm going to get my flowers as the kids would say!
