A Belgian court has asked whether the GDPR's right to erasure applies to a request to erasure baptismal record. The belgian authority ordered the erasure in 2023. This followed the Irish DPC decision that there is a legitimate interest in keeping the record. Now it's up to EU judges in Luxembourg!

French telecom operator Orange faces a fines of €50 million for violating French data privacy rules for inserting display ads in users' emails and illegally reading cookies after they withdrew consent. The fine was reduced from EUR85 million euros. The company plans to appeal.
