Same as there aren’t really fit people at gyms. Flabby bodies that don’t fit the ads are who need gyms, dressed in old sweats and the wrong shoes.

I sat at my kitchen table trying to work up the energy to write Sundays sermon. And as I thought about no one trusting the words of dirty smelly shepherds, it hit me once again that our people, who are mainly unhoused experience this everyday. It wasn’t priests who welcomed Jesus. It was them.

We need these stories in the face of the current xenophobia. What a story of resilience and determination. What a beautiful tribute to your mother. What a remarkable woman.

Maybe that’s the plan? Maybe they’re so fed up with him that encouraging his worst impulses is the way to hasten his political demise?
