I did things in these years that I would never have expected 7 years ago. I held positions on society boards and learned so much. I learned to speak in public, I learned to voice my feelings, I learned to navigate all kinds of situations.

Things you can't learn from books or university or school.

7 years ago, I was nowhere near who I am now. I was shy, didnt have many friends, didnt think much of myself, afraid to voice my opinions and feelings.

Today, I might not have the degrees I want or the job I want. But I have friends, a support system, confidence. Learned to set goals.

Looking around you, its easy to notice all the things others are achieving: degrees, jobs, etc. and compare yourself to these standards, especially when you yourself are struggling with those things.
Take a moment. Stand still. Look back. Look at where you were. Look at where you are now.

Usually I post something retrospective about the last year on the 31st of december.
This year, there would be no point. Losing my dad obviously overshadows the entire year.
Instead, I will attach below a thread with a rule that I try to live by, but also need to remind myself of very often.

Point in case, Gem's second channel is my most watchtime, thanks to it just being VODs of her Subnautica and Stardew streams.
Now I do really like Gem as a content creator so its not *inaccurate*, but overall it feels like its not the whole story.

Interesting to have this visualised, but I doubt how accurate this actually represents my interests. Of course MC would be my most watched, and I do like these other games, but e.g. GTLive is mostly on in the background, just like Gem's Stardew VODs because theyre just really chill to listen to.

Cant emphasise this enough. In uncertain times, saving our knowledge for the future is the most important thing we can do. We live in a world that teeters on the edge of going backwards in time. We mustn't.
