I’m not naive enough to not realise money facilitated lots of this.. but it takes more than that… it takes the foolishness of hope to the n’th degree and faith in the good left inside us all & the anger to roar in the face of violation of rights.
Shoutout to those who worked with me on the case of the girl who was refused emergency care for 3rd degree burns on 90% of her body & wouldn’t be seen without ID. We campaigned till the law was changed (only a small change to 1st 48 hours, but still!)
#CreatingPocketsOfUtipia

#CreatingPocketsOfUtipia
Shoutout to the doctors & friend who worked with Omer (the boy who burnt 90% of his hand so badly every hospital wanted to amputate it becoz how could a street boy pay for reconstruction & we managed over the year to give him back his fingers! Pro bono!

#CreatingPocketsOfUtipia
Shoutout to Mahienour - the human rights lawyer that had just come out of prison at midnight for protesting, & 6am accompanying a 3 year old street girl to have brain surgery after abuse so her abusive father couldn’t forcibly take her bcoz I was in London by then.
