Another R/W/R with Lizzy - and definitely more R than W! 💪 #running

Three wins and three clean sheets on the spin. Football with friends under the lights is fun! #itfc
*Didn’t, not don’t! 🤦♂️ 😂
Don’t get up in time for a pre work gym sesh, so forced myself out for a lunch break run instead 🏃 #running

Sunday session #running #strength #fitness
A rare opportunity for me to do some #parkrun tourism this morning, so I decided to visit my home town of Felixstowe’s event. Achieved a course PB by 1:03, beating a time I set in April 2018.
Is it losing weight? Is it training better?
No, it’s the new shoes 😂

New shoes! #running
Friday morning gym (gym? What the hell’s a gym?! Etc etc) #fitness
Another R/W/R with Lizzy, she just keeps on improving! 💪 #running
First day back to work after a week off, so a lunch break run very much needed! #running
Another enjoyable outing at CCP #parkrun this morning - the PB streak ends but still very happy with that performance, especially after a week of increased activity. Also awesome to see Sarah and Lizzy, and a surprise encounter with Nick was very welcome! #parkrunuk #running
Another R/W/R with Lizzy this morning, incorporating the CCP #parkrun route #running
Back again #glasseyecomedy #livecomedy #localcomedy
Swim, sauna, jacuzzi, coffee and cake. Grand.
Another CCP #parkrun course PB after running with Lizzy this morning and having not trained this week is, quite frankly, ludicrous. #parkrunuk #running
Great to see these chaps for brunch today!
R/W/R with Lizzy on our usual route, followed by a quick out and back to the InPost locker for Mrs M. #running
Sunrise run. Taking it easy on heavy legs. #running
There’s still more to do, but I’m damn proud of what I’ve done so far.
Today I decided I should be able to be proud about my results so far and speak about them more publicly. It also gives me a chance to celebrate the people in my life that have inspired me to do this (you know who you are ❤️) and stay accountable and keep going to make these changes stick.
It’s not been about image. For a long time now I’ve been comfortable in the skin I’m in but turning 40 made me think more seriously about my health and I wanted to make changes now, rather than later. I’m losing weight because I want to be more healthy, not to look good.
I’ve been reluctant to post about my weight loss with mounjaro, as there’s a lot of assumptions out there about it being a shortcut. But I want to celebrate what I’ve done as it’s not a miracle drug - I’ve still had to make lifestyle changes and up my exercise.
I’m pleased to say that my most recent test showed my HbA1c at 6.3%, which is down to not only the medication but the lifestyle changes I’ve made since the end of November.
I was put on mounjaro to treat my diabetes, which I’m afraid to say was poorly managed at points last year, my HbA1c (average blood glucose) at one point reaching 10.9%, well above the 4-6% range it should be in.
On the left is a picture of me on 22 November, a week before my first mounjaro injection. On the right is me this morning. In just over 10 weeks I’ve dropped 11.5kg, which is 1st 11lbs/25.4lbs in old money.

I knew it was coming, but I still balked when the boards came up with the next home game being 28 Feb.
