1/ Imagine arriving at the lake to find out it is too dangerous to enjoy. Signs about human and pet health dangers are not what we want to find. Serious lake health warnings are being issued more than ever before as a result of harmful cyanobacteria, commonly referred to as blue-green algae.

What is a fen?Β

A fen is a peat-forming wetland that relies on groundwater input. The vegetation found in these areas ranges from black spruce to sedges, grasses, and mosses.

These biodiversity hotspots require thousands of years to develop, meaning they cannot be restored once destroyed.

Up right now is @waterkeepermark.bsky.social of Swim Drink Fish!
A key message from his presentation: β€œwhat is it about water that brings us all together? We need others to join - you can’t protect the lake yourself. Having the law on your side is not enough.β€œ
