Historians, keeping records of wrongs since 430 BCE. My hubby will save your life & I'll teach you history. Historian, professor, trophy wife, owned by 6 cats, probably canning, blue dot in a red state, π fountain pen ink, & reader of books.
Reporting from random backroads in nowhere Indiana: nope, cybertruck still looks ugly.

Drop your fav disabled owned business below, or your own!

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.
Smashed records.
Curtesy of Garrett Roberts.
I've enjoyed using it and seeing y'all makes me smile lol It's also been a reminder of how easy it is to interpret "you" in an individualistic manner.
23.01.2025 13:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today I enjoyed cats, being warm while it's frigid out, did more faith deconstruction, and watch birds and squirrels eat from the bird feeder (the squirrel feed arrived today). Graded papers. Considered home decorations that I'll probably not do. Hung out on Zoom with friends. Good day.

Near the cover of the fence is an area where deer disturbed the snow either looking for food or by sleeping.
Evidence of deer in our backyard.

31.12.2024 15:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Christmas miracle: The cat we thought we'd lose is coming home (alive). Not sure how long she has left but as long as she wants to stay this side of the rainbow, we'll help her (with quality of life being important).
28.12.2024 19:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I missed the whole fansubbing debate but I suppose this is why scanlation groups were able to flourish without much pushback. In many cases fan's translations were better than corporate translations.
28.12.2024 02:55 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0At the emergency vet to make the final decision if we're putting our cat down tonight (she's been here for a week). The neurological damage prevents her from standing & using the litter. We're having to wait because there's 6 emergencies ahead of us. Though I understand, it's a painful wait.

In a professional setting, one should take 2 secs to confirm whether a faculty member has a PhD. If they can't pay attention to that, why trust them w/other issues?
15.12.2024 15:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm the type of person that if I'm being thrown under the bus I'm taking others with me. I'm a historian, keeping records of wrong & knowing how to effectively spill the tea is what we do.
15.12.2024 13:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pissed at the way universities enable racist behavior with its "students as consumers" model of education. I'm tired of faceless administrators who never experience teaching telling me how to run a classroom. They fail to understand they need me more than I need them.

This is supposedly about why young women are so opposed to populist parties. Itβs actually about why young men like Farage. We spend a lot of time analyzing young menβs preferences. But very little assessing WHY young women have become sharply progressive www.politicshome.com/thehouse/art...

11.12.2024 13:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Before yesterday, every time I saw a cybertruck it or I was in motion. Looked kind of ridiculous each time. Yesterday saw one in the airport parking lot - whole new level of ugly when parked. My first car was ugly but at least it was a charming sort of ugly.
09.12.2024 17:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I must admit, I missed the feel of northern California, especially after living in Missouri. I went to UC Davis for my Masters & beginning of PhD work, so it's a touch of nostalgia, but I'd argue it's also knowing the people around me most likely voted for Harris. Warmer temperatures help, too
08.12.2024 16:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The thing that kind of rankles me about the Section 31 movie is that in the end, it's not even Section 31.
Discovery's version of what DS9 presented - a black ops rot in the heart of the Federation, a dirty secret and a lie the utopia was founded on - is more of a radical clubhouse of renegades.
