watching THE GRUDGE (2020). already assuming it won’t be great, but I’ll watch Andrea Riseborough in most anything.

I think if a video game has a character who’s pretending to be good but you know they’re evil, you should be able to kill them early on the replay. Even if’s just a non-standard ending.

replaying God of War: Ragnarok, and I’d forgotten just how little faith the game had in its players; the dialogue, which was a highlight of the first, is still good, apart from the constant hints and reminders, the developers clearly terrified I might have to think for myself for a moment.

*gasp*

man i am -not- good at Silent Hill puzzles.

I beat Chronos for the first time in Hades 2! As a reward, I can make the game -even harder-.

so I think my ultimate problem is that I’m weird but I’m good enough pretending I’m normal that other people think I -am- normal and then when can’t keep up the act anymore and act like myself, they get upset.

it feels like he got to coast for a long time on the fact that he seemed like an asshole but wasn't quite as much an asshole as the more obvious assholes.

we've made a lot of mistakes, culture-wise, but one i keep coming back to lately is that we listened when stand-up comedians told us they were important.

i'm rereading 'Salem's Lot for the umpteenth time--I usually listen to the (fantastic) audiobook this time of year, but I had an urge to see the words on the page this time around. #FridayReads
