As a matter of fact, if people want NonCon with POC MCs maybe they should read up on the history of anti segregation propaganda and the “negro brute” trope that was used to indoctrinate a generation in film and literature. Spoiler alert: it’s terrible.

What I don’t understand is Idaho legalized gay marriage in 2006 at the state level, so they weren’t really affected by OvH. The argument of returning it to the states doesn’t have much standing to me because they weren’t forced, it was already a state const amendment there.

I finished “Red Rising” and I did enjoy it. I did. It feels /really/ similar to “Ender’s Game” once you get to Battle School- I mean the academy. It has enough of its own DNA to not be a rip of, but the inspo is unmistakable. I did appreciate the outright “Wiggin” Easter egg. So he wasn’t hiding.

In what context? Ethics as a consumer? I find treat Goodreads like IMDB and make an effort to purchase books from my locally owned bookstore. And I shop at a local grocer. No ethical consumption under capitalism, but I make an effort to support local as much as possible.
