The Second Amendment was added because southern states were afraid slaves would rebel if armed local militias were not preserved.
In 2008’s Heller decision, the Supreme Court said the militia clause should be ignored, inventing a personal right to arms that the NRA and gun industry had long sought.

It is a bad idea to try travelling to the US right now. You might think the worst that can happen is being refused entry, but once that happens you'll probably never be able to enter. Trump will be gone & you'll still have a note 'refused entry' on your file. Border officials will just say 'no'.
