the kind of thing that gets played at a war crimes trial
Four Americans were killed in the 2012 terror attacks in Benghazi and it became a Republican mega-scandal for many years
/7 What I mean by that is: do you see ANY moral component in making arguments to limit or reduce other people’s rights? Do you acknowledge ANY moral responsibility in pressing an extremely implausible argument in an effort to strip citizenship or rights from people?
Am I conversant in Bad Bunny’s music? No.
Do I speak Spanish? No.
Was I blown away by the music? No.
But even being ambivalent about the actual music, the halftime show looked like one hell of a party.

Have most Super Bowl commercials always been this bad or have they just gotten so consistently bad the last few years that it seems like they have always been bad.
AI and Crypto commercials just make me think Frank Herbert’s Butlerian Jihad sounds great.
as you watch all of the rah-rah pageantry of the Super Bowl it’s astounding to remember that MAGA is so weird and offputting that they’ve apparently given football to the libs in the national divorce
I guarantee he is going to talk about winning this fight, but those kids kicked his ass
there's this new dynamic where the DOJ cannot win in court and is (relatedly) incapable of meeting the minimum threshold of professional legal conduct, and so an increasing percentage of its actions are purely for intimidation and content
I’ve given up on making a pretty lasagna. I use rotini, mix everything together, dump it in a pan, cover with mozzarella, and bake until brown and bubbly.
Got this from a first-year law student today. I’m going to turn comments and quotes off because I am going to respond in my own way and am not looking for advice. But I think people should see it.
Let us all have the courage displayed by the residents of Minneapolis.
I have spent my entire adult life being lectured by Republican politicians and conservative legal movement types about how important it is to preserve the sacred constitutional right to self-defense of *specifically this person* and then secret police murdered him in the street
Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.
“Everyone should be allowed to carry a gun for their safety but the government can murder you in the street if you have a gun” is an incredible endpoint for the conservative moment
The DHS Form-205, a “warrant” of removal/deportation, is signed by an ICE official, not a judge. That’s precisely why it does not meet the Fourth Amendment standard.
(JD did go to Yale Law School so he legit may not know how the Fourth Amendment works)
Every Friday is a "what are they going to do now" adventure that is rarely fun in the criminal defense world.
In Alabama, our appellate courts release on Fridays but not every Friday. Sometimes it is just denying applications for rehearing, sometimes it is memorandum opinions that no one has access to except the parties, sometimes it is published opinions, sometimes it is all of the above.
Some perspective: The S&P opened down -1.3% on Trump's Greenland saber-rattling. That's $750 billion of wealth destroyed -- roughly equal to estimates of the value of Greenland.
And so ~in dollar terms~ his shenanigans have already cost the US one Greenland, and we've got nothing to show for it.
To those who are claiming that it'd be too cruel and extreme for the EU to cut off American tourist visas now (or to otherwise sanction or inconvenience us Americans in any way)....
You're REALLY not gonna like what happens if the madman Trump is permitted to set off a hot war with Europe.
Also this quote makes me want to run through a wall
Just once, I wish the democrats could grow a fucking spine

No one said you had to last 3 minutes...
By which I mean this
1) A 2 year old was talking normally and easy to understand?
2) At some point, people are going to get a first hand experience with what life was like before modern medicine. And they aren't going to like it
