Something I enjoy about Daggerheart is the flexibility in doing weird things. Yesterday we created a kind of avatar style tree based mind projecting to get the PCs to a village in distress. The hope and fear determines how useful the bodies were.
Humans should be the eldritch horror of a few TTRPGs
In a world of sapient species, the best way to "fix" humans is to stop assuming they are a "default race".
Instead of +1 in stats or max feats, how about feats/stats based on stamina recovery and heat resistance.
How about advantage on social rolls with non-humans.
How about mild poison resistance.

Keep in mind the AP's player guide recommends NOT taking Survival as a skill. It's one of the worst designed parts of an AP I have seen so far as a GM of the system. Utter clown show that final chapter is for a "political" game.
But have you had twelve consecutive survival checks in Blood Lords?
