“COVID-aware communities must provide safe spaces for generationally disabled families to celebrate access justice and radical inclusion."

"A core principle of disability justice is cross-disability organizing. Fighting for collective liberation is essential.”

“Masking Is a Myth, Late Diagnoses Are Wrong, and Non-Speaking Autistic People May Be Lying” - What Uta Frith Got Wrong — canary SEND Professor Uta Frith said masking isn't real, late diagnoses were mistakes, and non-speaking autistic people may be lying. She had no evidence. Here's the response she didn't get.

I still struggle with this, intensely. I discussed with a young student struggling with this today how important it is to resource ourselves, to get angry and fear out of our bodies when we can, to exercise, to sing, to rest... Do I take my own advice? Not enough.

And meanwhile they're counting the days precisely between refills to make sure we're not abusing them because stimulants are addictive for others.... Lollll... Nope, still not forming habits!

I wish I could say this was unbelievable... I wouldn't have imagined I could dislike testing more but someone figured out how to Frankenstein it with a behaviorist stoplight system!

I am comforted by zooming out to realize how small I am, and how much was here before and will go on after. I marvel to bear witness to stars, some of which are already extinguished. I am steadied by the trees I talk to, and the lasting topographies that perhaps observe us the way we do stars...

You can become disabled or homeless at any time.

They aren’t moral failings.

You can’t “just try harder”.

All it takes is one accident, one illness, one catastrophic event and your life changes forever.

It’s a minority group you can join at any time.

He broke the law.

She was illegal.

They’re a criminal.

This is what people say when we point out the abuse & atrocities in the ICE camps.

No one should be treated this way.

No one should be denied food, water & medical care.

No one should be denied due process.

I emailed them and they claimed to have not heard of this happening and it must have been incorrectly stored (it was not, at least on my end). Meanwhile, I went down a Reddit rabbit hole and saw plenty of people with the same or close to the same batch numbers had also complained...

I love mine! Although I had one whole box of tests that gave invalid results and weren't expired.

A screenshot of a regional map showing Paris Ontario. There is a small photo icon in the bottom left corner that looks like a heritage House. A screenshot of what opens. It is a heritage house decorated for Halloween one assumes. There are multipe skeletons scaling the walls of the house.

I wanted to see how far it is (not very) and pulled it up on a map. There was a nice heritage home as the small image in the corner. I clicked on it and was very amused and even more eager to visit!!

Heads up if you have a disability...

@aircanada.bsky.social is charging my wife and I hundreds of dollars extra because she uses a wheelchair and they won’t provide an accessible airport transfer (which we paid for in the package) that she can use unless we pay more.

His response is NY?

This suggests there were other colluding gynecologists in other cities.

A joyful, heartfelt conversation and the only proof needed of the importance of the arts. 20 min mark sets up a brilliant performance but the whole interview will bolster you.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Brave, powerful testimony. As an autistic person I acutely feel her confusion and overwhelm and inability to process. I experience visceral flashes of memories like she describes. Watch the video of her illegal detainment. I can't word now. Horrified.

Not just a body.

Thank you, Aliya Rahman.

Aliya Rahman is giving truly powerful and terrifying testimony

An American citizen attacked, assaulted and detained by her own country.

A woman with physical disability MOCKED by ICE.

They called detainees "bodies". They didn't see them as human. They were just BODIES.

I am gutted hearing her.

Beautifully written and resonates with me as a human, as a teacher, and as a learner. I have been discussing with my co-researcher about the privileging of speed and knowing, rather than relational process and learning, despite most of us believing the factory model is not what education should be!

Each time, some will find the mental gymnastics required to disbelieve their eyes impossible. Every act of murder, cruelty, and kidnappings of children will only whittle away their base. They are not adding to their numbers, only to their own opposition. They are hacking away at their own stilts.
