Agreed, shifts happen all of the time and that’s why we see new iconography. I remember when the icon for contacts was a Rolodex. Now it’s just an avatar icon.

What I really loved about Korea was their signage in & around the subway. Here’s a good example showing arrows pointing towards the train doors identifying where to line up and enter. It shows a symbol for the elderly signifying that this part of the train has seats for them. Solid UX iconography!
