Just fyi, the example proved useful in a piece I was working on this morning and spared the life of an “and” that would have otherwise been cut. 😂😊
I would normally use the comma, but in this case, “clever and unkind husband” has an appealing flow created by the vowel sounds.
“clever unkind” feels awkward as if clever is trying to modify unkind but was stripped of its adverbial -ly. 😂
