Earlier today someone Stinky doesn't know came over & he was his usual friendly, loving self. They were just stopping by, though, & left pretty quickly.

Stinky was just gobsmacked.
Sad.
And immediately asked for a treat because he was sad that they left.

What a ham!

From Ramstad’s column: Too much help, however, would create a different market
distortion. It might shield immigrant business owners from
recognizing that Operation Metro Surge created a permanent
change in the size or nature of their customer base

Tell Target: Thank you. Now stand with immigrant workers and families.
On Wedesday, March 11, 2026, Target Corporation announced it will fulfill commitments made in 2021 following the George Floyd uprising to invest in the Black community. This is an important step forward, and it reflects the power of community organizing across the country. Black leaders and organizers launched a boycott in January 2025 that called on Target to honor its commitments. Communities responded. People organized, spoke out, and demanded accountability.
Unidos MN and a multiracial coalition also organized during Operation Metro Surge to ask Target to stand up to the Trump administration's attacks on immigrant communities. Hundreds of people showed up at actions. Thousands sent emails. Community members delivered letters directly to Target board members and shareholders. Today we celebrate this step forward. But there is still an urgent question that Target must answer. Will Target publicly commit to protecting its immigrant customers and workers from ICE enforcement, or will it remain silent while families across the country face detention, deportation, and separation?
Target has shown it is capable of acting with social responsibility when communities organize and demand it.
Now we are asking the company to take the next step. Send a message to Target CEO Michael Fiddelke and ask Target to stand with immigrant workers and families.

Let Your Heart Be a Whistle (spoken word by Kyle Tran Myhre) YouTube video by KTM aka GUANTE

One of the tracks on the new fundraiser EP is a poem of mine, recorded at a Monarca benefit show back in January at the @loftliterarycenter.bsky.social in MPLS. Here's the full footage. A few thoughts in the thread too:

Listen to @liam2manynames.bsky.social. Politicians want you to forget about the occupation and the ongoing impacts our neighbors are facing.

It's day 100 of the ICE occupation of MN.

For 100 days, this community has done everything in our power to protect and care for our neighbors.

And today, Jacob Frey failed to do the bare minimum and give neighbors time to recover and put their lives back together.

We'll be 🔗 some 🧵 below.

I’m proud to be Latino. Sadly, my community has been disproportionately impacted by “Operation Metro Surge” and has literally been forced back into the shadows.

It’s very well known that elected officials have always disregarded my community and our livelihood.

The little people will win one day.

Don’t talk about how much you support immigrants or want ICE out if you support throwing my community out into the cold.

You’re now responsible for people self deporting, not having enough money to feed their families, and their displacement. You’re just like ICE.

See also, truly social housing as one of our greatest unmet needs. The crass failure of the “housing nonprofits” in Minneapolis shows us how far away we are from the mark.

I doubt landlords have contemplated systemic collapse. Covid came with relief funds. And the loss on one evicted family terrorizes ten more into paying rent and skimping on food or medical care. But that system is fragile already. They won’t know what hit them when it shatters.

This is one of the things that really shows how shortsighted Frey's decision is. Landlords rarely get paid when they evict someone, even in the long run. In MN, you can't collect rent on an eviction judgment; you need to sue separately. And most rent assistance won't pay arrears for prior residences

This is the thing! The landlords aren’t getting that money back! Their income depends on renters!

Has anyone in Frey’s office read a book? Any book? Not written by Dale Carnegie or Malcom Gladwell?

These non-profit affordable housing developers are the reason the mayor vetoed extending the pre-eviction notification period from 30 to 60 days. Not one more dime from me; those dollars are going directly to mutual aid from now on.

So it's been amazing to see all the rent relief fundraising. Absolutely incredible. But it gets to me that the end result of all this is the money goes to line landlord pockets. And yes families stay housed. That's vital. But it's all of us every day regular degular citizens sacrificing for it.

If Mia were serious about “the art that challenged fascism,” they would put the Nicole Good and Alex Pretti posters in the museum show too, in addition to restoring them in the street spot.
