Anyway, all that to say my kiln load came out great, a little nervous but mostly super excited for my raku workshop this weekend!! 🎆

And like, the fact that I had to type this in short chunks of characters instead of one post is fucking insane. There's no good reason for a platform to use this format at this point, but there are lots of bad (see: profitable) reasons for it!

This shit applies to everything though, as the past 6 years of studying socialism has really taught me SOOO much more about the world and improved my understanding of it specifically because of coming to understand that connective tissue rather than a dehydrated, disconnected grasp of everything.

Anyway... I'm just ranting because this shit is how I learned to draw and paint, and now that I'm getting more into sculpting I can tell that I need to understand the way that moisture and heat and other things function, but those explanations are a lot harder to find!

almost none of it teaches foundations and fundamentals. Things are thought of and advertised as disparate "projects" which can make things accessible but wow it's so hard to find in depth education on stuff anymore!

Yknow I think the format of the internet and fracturing of information into bite sized pieces has negative effects not just on our comprehension of each other and the world but also on understanding the fundamentals of various practices, crafts, skills, etc.
