India and Pakistan need to engage with each other again | The National
Unless the two sides can find ways to manage their conflict, the urge to fight will continue to grow with every new terror attack
I write about how/ where/ why the accumulation of risk has changed in the last decade. The old pattern was retaliation and dialogue; now it’s just scaling up retaliation. Both sides want deterrence, but without communication they are stuck in a feedback cycle of intensifying instability.

The Limits of Power: India’s Pakistan Policy Is Up Against a Changing World Order
In February 2014, shortly before he became India’s National Security Advisor, former Intelligence Bureau chief Ajit Doval proclaimed a major policy shift via a long public speech. Pakistani support fo...
This air war followed the Doval Doctrine approved in 2014 by #Modi. So did the GOI responses to the 2019 & 2016 crises. So why hasnt India seen results yet? I wrote this 8 years ago and its still true. #India lacks conventional mil. supremacy and the US lost leverage on #Pakistan. The key is #China.

RSS at 100: Continuity amid change
In 1925, K B Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, envisioned that his organisation would ultimately become “the Hindu Rashtra in miniature”
RSS is 100 years old. It has grown & changed a lot: Nagpur has lost its moral authority & Narendra Modi almost took over the Sangh parivar. But Hindutva has changed India even more. @CERI_SciencesPo @KingsIndiaInst @CarnegieIndia

Study: The margin of victory for any election can be predicted just by voter turnout. Using global data from hundreds of elections & 70 years, SFI's Aanjaneya Kumar (@aanjaneya.bsky.social) and co-authors' model could also help detect electoral malpractice. www.santafe.edu/news-center/...
