Amazed to see this print emerge on one of my feeds today!

A great tit, a small bird with a black cap, black chin, and a black stripe running down the front of its yellowish belly. It has white cheeks and blue-gray wings bearing a white stripe. This one is perched in a conifer, well shaded, so the blue is less apparent. Its beak is pointed toward the camera, and the twig it sits on is angled from lower left to upper right. This is framed on the left and right sides by the iron bars of a garden fence.

A Eurasian coot, a darkly colored bird that, from this angle, appears gray in its body, black in its head and neck, with a white beak that appears to extend into a bony plate on its forehead. This one is on the surface of a river, swimming toward the camera, but with its head turned to keep an eye on the photographer.

A common nightingale, a small, brown bird, with a lighter, speckled belly and throat, perched on the thorny branch of a green bush. The bird is behind the thorny branch, but has just spotted the photographer, and is an instant from flying away.

Recently I watched a male and female Red-winged Blackbird (only the male is in these photos) attack a Sandhill Crane in the marsh. Typically the female only joins in when the crane is very close to the Red-winged Blackbird nest, and I was correct;

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher nests are built by both the male and female; this is the male with the big bold eyebrow. The nest is decorated with lichen and held together with spider silk.

Greenish fog obscures much of this image. Walking away from the viewer is a woman with dark hair in a ponytail, wearing jeans and a black tank top. She is painted green by the lights in the space. In the foreground on the far left is the head and torso of a silhouetted man. He’s turned slightly toward the camera, but his features are mostly obscured.
