For a while I wrote overheard conversations as lyrics. That day I went to Wannsee to get my finger checked — I had cut it badly a few days before. The sun was shining, and a wife said to her husband in the street: “Willst du den Porsche nehmen? Ist schönes Wetter.”

Definitely visible is the, at the time, still pertinent fear of flying (Iberia Express airplane on the right). That explains the almost complete absence of music, with just a double-hertz dipole in the lower left corner.

recording video images on top of audio cassettes blew my mind and further dissolved auditory and visual perception as they become indistinguishable.

I’m not particularly into vintage gear, but I love using “obsolete” technology. These little hints and evolutionary dead ends that give you room to breath. The PixelCam, for me, was a revelation:

As an expanded-cinema piece, this is a VGA hack, mixing audio and video into one stream and projecting the distorted signals onto a screen. The source here is a Fisher-Price PXL2000, the infamous PixelCam.

The streak or spray-shaped form coming in from the left can be read as the error signal flowing backward through those same connections, redistributing responsibility for the mistake.

The hi-cut (capacitor connected to the ground) makes the treble more pleasant and leaves some space for your tinnitus, making the listening unique for every individual experiencing it.

This is a full noise setup with some obscure IC in its core and over-sized old living room speakers. Mycelium growing on the capacitors might modulate their capacitive resistance C and contribute to resonance shifts.

mushroom circuits, 2021. Painting with coffee has some advantages. The pigments are available in every coffee shop, it is bio degradable and you can drink coffee meanwhile. Not possible with any other water colors.

The tubes are saturating the signal, adding some warmth. The ohmic resistances often host little acid western scenes, making it a mixed media audio-visual painting.
