My brother and I dined at Sushiro on a whim last Thursday night. This was only half of the plates we finished that night. I particularly enjoyed the horse mackerel and yellowtail fish, although the salmon is an instant favorite, of course.

I came across this beautiful display of batik at the airport yesterday. Indonesia comprises various regions with their own set of cultures, and each region has their own batik. Through the patterns of a batik, one may learn of the beliefs and morals upheld by the people in the region.

A stylized picture I took when my plane was about to fly. It reminded me of the phrase "midnight sun". I was sleepy and sleepless at the same time when this picture was taken. I had a long day and I ended up missing my flight for the first time.

We were about to go to a garage sale in the heart of the city, but he had something from work coming up. We ended up making a detour to this small kopitiam-style restaurant so we could have lunch while he worked. They had a pretty good chicken curry soup.

I've been enjoying the American rock/metal band Dayseeker lately. Their latest album, Creature in the Black Night, is perfection in my opinion. I really recommend two songs from the album: "Shapeshift" and "The Living Day". They have a vinyl release that I would like to buy next year!

Looking back, this high speed rail station holds a special place in my mind. I go here at times, because it's in the direction of home. I have my dinner in one of the restaurants, and I just rest my head in my parked car after. It's the place of my temporary reprieve.

The city was bustling even though it was the holiday season nearing New Year. We changed our dinner plan after seeing the nikudon restaurant we initially visited was fully packed. I loved this restaurant more: their tori nanban was a revelation.

We were about to try a new Vietnamese coffee cafe in the city, but they ran out of coffee beans when we got there. With a heavy sigh, we went to another cafe instead.
