Digital sketch of the new pokémon Pombon, a small warm-colored fire pokemon based on a pomeranian. It's running to the viewer's left with its tongue hanging out and simplified fire behind it.
Its name in large purple capital letters is under it, skewed to the back and right.
Little pombon has the zoomies.

Pombon alone may make me get a Switch 2 next year. Nintendo found my weakness.
I love pomeranians and pokemon.

I was working in grocery and Kroger told us we werent allowed to wear masks! They didnt want us to make customers uncomfortable at that point.
We know a lot more now, for sure.

Obviously it feels a lot more likely when it actually hits you. I just had the bad luck to get it first wave.
March 2020 and still have it, though improved since the worst of it.

Macro photo of a brown stink bug in face view on a leaf, guarding a tightly-clustered bunch of eggs that are shaped and colored exactly like a full tray of dark beer with foam on top.
Finally, the bug is back with a round of the Guinness.

A colorful poster illustration featuring 15 species of animals from the Cambrian period 541-485 million years ago. These are mostly unusual looking invertebrates, such as Hurdia, Wiwaxia, Anomalocaris, Peytoia, trilobites, Marrella, Nectocaris, Hallucigenia, Opabinia, Plectronoceras, Lyrarapax, and Naraoia. An early chordate (Pikaia) is also included. The animals are brightly colored on a dark black background. White numbers with a key label each species.
Creatures of the Cambrian period!

Some days, nothing I attempt to draw comes out right; There's some disconnect between my hand's coordination and my mind's ability to grasp shape and lines.
That's ok. I know it's temporary.
Maybe I need to just lose myself in a book or video game, art that others have created, and reset.

Surely they could use fish sauce if they're patient enough for fermentation.
(Did the right bacteria exist then?)

Digitally painted portrait of a horse looking to the viewers left, almost in profile view. It has a palomino coloring.
The overall quality is left slightly rough and unfinished but attempts were made to try to keep the proportions realistic.
I've been learning Nomad Sculpt for a while, but took a break to make a quick 2D partial horse sketch in the hope that it will help me sculpt the 3D shapes of horse heads better. They're such weird animals.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

Happy to be free from religion, btw.
I have family stories about the reasons my ancestors came over (always pure and with hard work and sacrifice-- the usual American myths) but I don't assume they're true.
Growing up on stories praising the polygamists, it's obvious the family history is biased.

By the time you're seeing videos of how to do it. The market has been saturated, imo.
There are now videos and courses on how to make videos and courses to grift, so that's getting full now too.

That's exactly my approach.
I'm happy with it now-- I don't even have to see ai options. I hid the single icon. Easy.
An Affinity employee in their discord basically said this was the approach they took for trying to keep everyone happy (current users, new boss canva, users coming from canva).

fwiw, I've used Affinity (v1, v2, on iPad and Windows and now V3 on Windows that released end of 2025) and I really enjoy them!
V2 Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, and Affinity Publisher may still be free on iPad (V3 set to release "soon"), and the V3 Windows and Mac are free now.

Mayflower and Mormons, mostly.
I always wonder if the women who ended up in Utah/Idaho knew about polygamy before they were pressured into it.

Not yet.
Affinity is free now with a completely optional subscription to use canva ai features.
If you don't want to pay, you don't have to, and you'll basically be getting an updated version of Affinity Suite in one program.
The same team is still working on Affinity in Nottingham.

A screenshot of Moira and Johnny Rose standing outside in fancy picnic attire, from the tv series "Schitt's Creek," with Moira's line captioned: "I promise to keep my husband habilimented from now on."

Work in progress screenshot of a running horse facing to the viewer's left, sculpted in Nomad Sculpt on an iPad. Icons for various tools and options are visible on every side of the screen.
The horse figure is still rough and undefined and the material looks like a graybrown clay with a subtle shininess to it.

The pronghorn figure is still rough and undefined. Its legs are still mostly untouched cylinders and it only has one roughed in horn and a single ear

Work in progress screenshot of a standing domestic pig facing to the viewer's left, sculpted in Nomad Sculpt on an iPad. Icons for various tools and options are visible on every side of the screen.
The figure appears to be finished to an acceptable level of detail for 3d printing, though most of the skin is smooth, so realistic textures will need to be applied with paint.

I'm enjoying #NomadSculpt a lot.
But. I know I'm not at full potential because there are entire menus I'm not touching.
It's *super* easy for me to jump between 2D #art programs and I have to keep reminding myself that I can't know everything immediately here when there's a whole new D involved.

I just made an account to check it out. Lack of website access (app-only) is ridiculous. Videos are set to auto-play by default. I'm getting what essentially looks like religious and racist FB posts but mostly not english in the feed right now. It's not a strong first impression, tbh.

The engagement bait AI animal videos are getting pervasive here now too.
And people here aren't much better at recognizing and calling it out than they are on fb. :/
Seeing way too many of the, "I don't care if it's AI-- it's cute!" kind of AI- and disinfo-supporting comments.
