One Of Those Days

Today is one of those days.
You know the kind.
It’s overcast and raining outside.
The perfect weather to sit down,
Open a book,
While you’re clutching a hot cup of cocoa.
Yet . . .
All I want to do
Is crawl back into bed.

Chocolate solves everything!

Don’t let anyone snuff the flames within you. At the end of the day, we need these kinds of stories. For in many ways than one, they make us whole again. Sometimes, they also give us closure.

To discover the secrets the story holds. Sure, it’s a difficult one the author has told, but it’s one that needed to get out there.

Stories such as these are always worthwhile. Because they make us think out of the box.

Keep writing, folks. Tell the stories rolling within you that need to be told.

Every now and then, I’ll come across a #book/manuscript that gets under the skin. You know the kind, right? The ones that make you think, dream, and remember every inch of it without even trying.

I’m revising one, as we speak. Almost done with it. It’s a #story that begs the reader to dive deeper.

Amidst life’s chaos, and everything I have to do, I’ve been #writing. Not quite working on my #books, mind you.

But…I’ve been writing. #Poetry. Lots of it.

Some dark. Others mellow. A few where I’ve been missing my sister. And some are nothing more than random thoughts that have come to mind.

Very. Slowly learning how to heal from it, though never forgetting about who and what she was to me. In time, I know it’ll hurt so much less.

Indeed, very much so. It feels good to be able to jot those thoughts down, then and there.

She passed away in September 2023. I was her caregiver at the time and had gone to her home one afternoon. It’s been difficult, but I know she’s no longer in pain or fighting the demons that had once haunted her.

My mom always joked that we were twins at heart while we were growing up. Thus, we’d tell folks we were. After a while, it stuck since we were always together at various points in life. When she passed, it was like she took part of me with her.

Thanks. My sister and I were actually born a year apart, but we had mannerisms & what not as if we were twins, as we were practically joined to the hip, as the saying goes. We would feel what the other felt, finish each other’s sentences, and do a lot together. Things twins would do despite the gap.

The deviation is real! I…ended up writing down an idea. But…then I ended up with 500 words for its beginning.

It has no title. Not yet. Its MC’s race/gender is not yet defined, though it will be once I continue the story.
