Saturday Sampling - today I am featuring the lovely Montblanc Homage to August Renoir Bleu Outremer, which means Ultramarine Blue. This ink isn’t really an ultramarine, but rather a gorgeous blue/lavender faded hydrangea color. Swipe for a comparison with some other blurples and muted blurples.

Friday Flowers - the lovely dahlia ‘Breakout’ with my Leonardo x Atlas Stationers LMZ in Brooks Golden Abalone. ‘Breakout’ blooms can get huge but since we have had almost no rain in two months these are more like salad plate size than dinner plate size #fountainpen

🩵 Turquoise Tuesday 🩵 for Day 30, the last day of #30inks30days - and that’s a wrap! Today’s ink is Ink Institute Jade Vine, a blue leaning turquoise that is just slightly muted. Very pretty. The pen is my Sailor Pro Gear Blue Lagoon

Monday Match for Day 29 of #30inks30days - Lullaby from the 2024 Diamine Inkvent calendar may not have been very holiday themed, but it’s quite a nice soft pinkish purple. It is a very nice match to my Sailor PGS Shirafuji. #fountainpen

Day 28 of #30inks30days - the ink is Tundra from the 2024 Diamine Inkvent Black. A quick abstract consisting of a water wash with ink drops for a neutral with cool chroma. For the water and the ink name I used a brush today, not a fountain pen. Yu-Sari paper because I like how the chroma looks on it

It is from Jumping Fox - these notebooks were on a really good sale at Amazon a few years ago so I tried one. They are quite fountain pen friendly, but didn’t replaced my beloved Tomoe River paper

Friday Flowers for Day 26 of #30inks30days - the ink is J Herbin’s Moulin Rouge from the Paris set, set off by helianthus ‘Lemon Queen’ and matched with my Esterbrook Estie Scarlet. The helianthus are in full, spectacular bloom right now in the garden (swipe to see) #fountainpen

Thursday Theme for Day 25 of #30inks30days is Blue Birds - a bird themed ink with a Pelikan pen. Anderillium Indigo Bunting from the Avian series and my Pelikan m815 Metal Stripes Blue #fountainpen

Garden break - my absolute favorite combo right now - helianthus ‘Lemon Queen’ and hyacinth bean vines going bonkers in the background on a trellis and on the moon gate

This a vivid orange-yellow ink, more legible than I expected, at least in my Fude nib. I mostly bought it for mixing, so I was surprised to like it so much! It is similar to Birmingham’s old Luna Park Marmalade ink. A bit more orange than R&K Helianthus, more yellow than Sailor Kin Mokusei.

🩵 Turquoise Tuesday 🩵 for Day 23 of #30inks30days - Morning Morpho Shimmering from Pennonia and Stationery Universe - Fountain Pen: Juma Laguna Ascher from Tailored Pen Co

not the type of pink I normally use (I prefer the more muted pinks) but it certainly does wake me up on a Monday morning!

Monday Match for Day 22 of #30inks30days - I have matched Anderillium Roseate Spoonbill Pink to the pink peonies in my Stanford Pen Studio/Marian Binder “Blooms of the Heart.”

Kamoshika is also fairly similar to Wearingeul Stonecutter’s Song, but somewhat darker, I think. The last pic has more comparison swatches.

If you like Sailor Manyo Aka-Mai this one is similar enough in hue that I did a direct comparison (swipe to see). They share similar dye components but Kamoshika leans a bit more warm/pink and Aka-Mai a bit more cool/purple (at least on Tomoe River paper). Kamoshika is darker, though

#StellarNibSunday for Day 21 of #30inks30days with @inkjournal - I have paired my @stylosuite cursive italic X-Wing Harpoon flex nib (Pen is by Tailored Pen Co.) with Sailor Shikiori Kamoshika. I would call this ink a brownish pinkish gray. More thoughts in comments #fountainpen

Friday Flowers for Day 18 of #30inks30days - the ink is Anderillium Purple Gallinule from their Avian series. It is a deep blurple with some multishading and interesting chroma. Flowers: blue mist flower (Conoclinium coelestinum) and clematis ‘Arabella.’ Pen: Montegrappa Mia Very Peri #fountainpen

Yes it is definitely a purple leaning pink (some people call that color “pinkle”). I tend to love muted pinks, myself, whether they lean brownish, orangish, reddish, purplish, whatever. Laban Aphrodite, Robert Oster Australis Rose, Teranishi Opera Rose, Diamine Cashmere Rose, that sort of thing
