Was just thinking the same thing.
Ours is going at the end of the month. Costing a small fortune in penalties, mind.
Are they necessary for the future of pathology? Do you think pathology needs to be consolidated when other clinical services aren’t being? Why is pathology special? Obviously it’s special but why is consolidation a good thing?
I don’t have much reach on here but am interested to hear from other #ibms #biomedicalscientists #bms #pathology staff about what they think will happen to pathology networks in the era of no NHSE. Do you think this is another layer of bureaucracy and management that can/should go? Or 1/2
We had our transition assessment recently and they gave us advanced notice of the areas they’d look at but I guess not the specifics. I think that’s always been the case for us.
Ooh, intriguing! Details?
Why do they both look like they’re tipping forward?
How it’s done.
Most of us have used Global Positioning System (GPS) for navigation & we can thank Gladys West for creating the foundation for GPS.
She used her mathematical & programming expertise to invent an accurate model of the Earth.
She was inducted into the US Air Force Hall of Fame.
Americans should be outraged about this. They should be bombarding their representatives. Think about the poem by Martin Niemöller. It will be your turn at some point. Who will be left to fight for you?

Just saw your name in the IBMS email. Huge congrats for the Science Council award! Mega.
I’ve had one of those this past weekend. On the snotty end of it now but it was a beast. Hope you feel better for your interview 🤞🏻
Marmite crumpet 😎
Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified 🥳
Saving this for when it’s needed.
It’s a bit teenage-ish but I love s bit of ABCDEFU (angrier version) by Gayle

Can you add @ibmscience.bsky.social for us biomedical scientists?
That was my second choice! I suspect you are a brilliant human.
Please share with your Biomedical & Clinical Science friends on 🦋 - let’s build our network up again❤️
