more like two and a half weeks at this point 🤪

my back rlyy hurts today bc of all the fabric cutting & ironing i’ve been doing but i still need to pull a ton of fabric prints (which is also hard on my back) and i’m so stressed about it.. prints take a WEEK to cure before i can do any sewing with them

THANK U!! it is the offspring of a trader joe’s pumpkin that a squirrel ate, a seedling popped up under some bushes so i transplanted it to a raised bed lol

can’t believe we still haven’t had a frost.. avg first is around mid october here, and still no frost in the forecast for the next week and a half. backyard is still full of flowers >.>

seams are smoov now -w- these take like 20somethin minutes to make so i’m happy i’ll be able to sell them for around 12 bux and not feel bad about it and also not feel like they’re overpriced.. yey

if i had been wiser i would have gotten 1” wide lobster clasps instead of these .5” ones, so i could sew with fabric wide enough to block print on.. i’ll get thru this stock with these color block ones but wow i wanna make a bunch with my fish stamps and other mini blocks on em

also got actual jeans needles for these anticipating sewing them to be difficult and ommmggg what a difference it makes. needle goes thru like butter and doesn’t feel like it’s at constant risk of snapping

i got lobster clasps to make little keychain wristlets to go with my bags and first prototype one is p cute!! a bit lumpy as i learn how to manage these bulky seams but future ones will be neater i think. simple color blocking with gray denim inner is cuuute

getting like 2 yards of linens & silks for $13 is soooo cool..

addicted 2 digging thru goodwill for 50-75% off linen clothing to disassemble for quilting rn.. i also found a beautiful teal silk noil shirt for 75% off today n.n (with stains and holes so nobody wants to wear it!!)

the last of my materials for bag making came in the mail, canvas fabric yardage for lining, so now i’m veryyy excited to get producing!!

gotta start working on a shitload of fabric printing today bc things need to dry for a week before i can sew with anything

i gotta copy that pattern onto some cardstock or smth im gonna be tracing a lot of fishies

finished piecing & ironing the tops for 25 mini fish today WOOHOO!!! in record time.. god having a rotary cutter & clear ruler makes the speed of cutting square things crazyyyy. here’s all the blocks + closeups of some fave combos

i did sooo much fabric sorting and cutting and sewing today and i was so engrossed thru all of it i very suddenly realized i was exhausted actually once i pulled myself away for dinner

working on a display for postcards, we got metal baskets from dollar store and leigh is cutting and bending them to fit inside pegboard and it looks soo good!! test fit on our tool rack lol. we’ll make a pegboard cube tower atop a lazy susan, paint it a nice accent color.. gonna look sooo good

going absolutely crazy sorting all these pre-cut squares my friend gave me to pull out good fish pin/keychain colors and textures.. houugh. I LOVE SORTING COLORS

omg if i have time to make that… pog. i’ll still have ones out on display but the fish game can be for ppl that can’t pick a color (SURPRISINGLY common, i’ve had ppl w major decision paralysis over my fish a lot, lmao)

i also got new microtex needles (extra tiny extra sharp) for piecing quilt cotton and it’s making sewing so much easier!!! my needle isn’t chewing my sewing up anymore lol

omg i’m having so much fun. finally figured out exact measurements for making fish pins (was previously piecing and tracing in portions & trimming each piece to fit after each section) so i’m able to pre-cut a bunch of colors and then piece a whole block together SOOO EFFICIENTLY. YAY!!
