10.06.2025 21:22 β π 7 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0My former NDP MP colleague Don Davies brought the voices of the National Disability Network and 900k+ disabled Canadians to Parliament. Bill C-4 lowers taxesβbut also reduces disability tax credits. The NDP is calling on all parties to fix this before it becomes law. #FIXIT
11.06.2025 22:53 β π 35 π 16 π¬ 1 π 0Most disabled people who can't work and rely on government support just want enough money so we can pay our bills and rent, get groceries, do laundry, get a haircut, buy our medications and devices and look after our support animals properly with some left over to get clothes or replace things.
09.06.2025 15:11 β π 237 π 38 π¬ 14 π 6There is still time to FIX IT! This oversight needs to be corrected before the tax cut becomes law.
This letter in the video makes an important point that might easily be overlooked in a broad tax policy decision:
π¨Can Anyone PLEASE Help with $50 towards groceries or medication?
Disabled and living in legislated poverty, every single day is a struggleπ

The current level of monthly support is $1535/month and under - depending on shelter status, co-financial support partners, special dietary needs, etc.
The current MBM is $2066.88/month (2024) & LICO is $2448.33/month (2024)
Our collective focus is on bringing an END to imposed poverty of disabled citizens in B.C. by getting the Provincial government to provide monthly disability income support EQUAL to the official poverty level of Canada - either MBM (market basket measure) or LICO (Low income cut off).

74% of PWD in B.C. do NOT have access to subsidized housing so are left to be homeless, live in unsafe/deplorable conditions or pay market.
Will YOU join us on May 29th for our Rally, Music, Cake & Postcard Campaign to ERADICATE government-imposed POVERTY of Disabled in B.C.?
