Yeah it just all seemed to dip away from him. I think the driver management has been WEIRD and I think Zak Brown has a clearly stronger relationship with Norris but I don't think there's any intentional meddling either.

Thinking further about the lap seven Safety Car strategy. If you were towards the back of the field, like Hamilton, maybe you shouldn't have pitted. You'd have gained significant track position and maybe been able to eke out a gap to other people through pure field spread and made it work

Yeah there's definitely some balance in there. I think some of it helps to shape the story of the race and add a little character and conflict and wouldn't be so bad if people could just be chill.
