Thing is - on YT trending is the wrong approach - you want videos with long term relevance not “today’s hot topic”.

It’s going to get even worse on YouTube as the Studio UI now has a native AI recommendations page that even suggests titles and scripts for trending topics, or ways to do more videos like the one you just did that ranked well.

So…. All a bit crap then? Fully onboard with the aesthetic but this ain’t it chief.

This feels like the actions of a man who can’t let podcasting go 😉

Unfortunately most content especially thoughtful and carefully made factual content isn’t commercially viable. At any level. Certainly no one actually making it is getting rich off it. But if you can keep doing it and loving it you’ve won at life.

I want to be on here (as much as anyone wants to spend scrolling on their phone) but the discover feed is getting worse not better for me. And there’s just not enough in my other feeds. Starting to feel a bit dead.

A great gimmick but a terrible choice. Small 4k cameras exist that could have been used instead - most importantly these would have had iris control and a fixed frame rate as opposed to the variable frame rate of phone cameras. Certainly better than the F1 onboards but by no means the best option.

Anyone else think “tried too hard” misses the point? I’m in two minds about Lando. I want him to be a new type of racing driver who eschews the macho posturing of the sport, because that’s lame, but I also want him to be a ruthless winner. Can we have both? I honestly don’t know.
