Better late than never is always the case. Apparently a collector was close to sharing something after negotiations and then saw fans wishing collectors dead so we got more, and decided not to share. So that's a bit shit. We do need to be sensitive.
Since 1999, we've had fifteen episodes back. Crusade 1, the three DMP episodes and the four missing Web of Fear episodes have been Douglas Camfield eps. One Derek Martinus, one Julia Smith and five from Barry Letts. Clear bias towards Camfield making stuff people wanted to keep!
Almost joyful now but I imagine that would be a bit shit at the time!
I wrote an article reporting that Gareth David-Lloyd had "penned" his first Torchwood audio and one of the commenters took serious issues with the concept of someone "penning (words) an audio (sound)" and just couldn't grasp the concept of a script.
We should definitely base all of our society around this technology.
The missing episodes of #DoctorWho. #TV
Well done @filmisfabulous.bsky.social
Literally serving Cant

That actually gives a bit of hope for things like Masterplan, Power and Evil of the Daleks, Cyberman stories etc. Big titles that even soneone who doesn’t care about the show will realise are worth keeping.
Something I was ruminating on yesterday - we need to recalibrate our assessments of what we might see coming back. We’ve always gone with ‘oh this was sold abroad loads and so is more likely to survive’; when actually now it’s ’what would a non-fan want to hold on to for the kids/grandkids’
Do you mean 4? We've always had 5. (Unless I'm missing a joke)
In 1981 Doctor Who Magazine published the first comprehensive inventory of the BBC's archive, listing which Doctor Who episodes existed and were missing.
45 years on, 41 episodes have been returned to the archives. Here's a recreation of that list followed by how it stands in 2026.
No, it's meant to be in creaky and gloomy bars in Ramsey in the Isle of Man, and help you survive in a bleak, cold, rainy, damp winter
Had it confirmed that the team restoring Dalek Master Plan is *not* the same as the S13/S21 Collection sets so we should be safe from horrible AI
Damn straight
They HAVE to fix them for the Standard Editions. Not acceptable at all.
And they better not fuck up DMP! But I fear they will...
Happy Doctor Who Missing Episode Recovery Boxing Day! Few sore heads this morning.
For those not aware, Doctor Who in the 60s released this episode of Doctor Who without the Doctor. Called 'Mission to the Unknown', it's a prequel or a prologue to 'Master Plan'. Due to it being missing, it got a wonderful, caring recreation by the UCLA. #DoctorWho
I remember being excited by early finds but it was always tempered with the thought that I'd probably never get to see any of them. Tomb was the first one where something was recovered and shortly afterwards (comparatively!) you could actually see it.
Be right back, they've found Episode 9: Golden Shower, so we can watch that back to back with Episode 10: The Switch Has Escaped. Sadly the Fist of Steven and Cor, Anus of the Sun remain missing.
I'm sorry I'm like this, truly I am
"Donate to Film is Fabulous"
"Not like that"
"Gonna see my dealer"
"What's e' got mate, eh, ere's forty, get me some good stuff yeah, bit of sniff, bit of cake maybe"
"I think he's got Ice and maybe a bit of Web"
"Sound, mate, sound as a pound"
(Later, gawping at VHS)
"Wtf is this?"
"They are MY drugs Sir, GOOD DAY, I SAID GOOD DAY!"
I was so grateful a mate gave me a burnt disc with Underwater Menace 2 and Airlock on them relatively quickly. It was bizarre they had screenings but no release for *ages* (three or four *years* in the case of UM2.) I think at that point Morris had convinced everyone the motherlode was coming.
Yeah, it's really odd in hindsight that they never released what was found of The Ice Warriors until ten years after. It's mad now to think the 90s announcement/release gaps got longer too. To be able to see DMP so soon on iPlayer is wonderful.
Oh gosh. Could just have easily been there. I was far too young to be thinking about things but it obviously lingered in the subconscious...
Ok so otherwise my Friday the 13th had me nearly lose money to a hacked friend's Facebook scam (it's fine, but grr) and there was no bus home so impromptu dinner, TV and sofa bed with a lovely friend... But still, best Friday 13th ever.
I went to sleep early on Thursday night so I was woken with the news of the return by the marvellous Carrie who you should employ for actoring (she's in Mandy and stuffs). Best Friday the 13th ever.
Tomb of the Cybermen came out on VHS between my Grandad passing away and the funeral; I was bought it as a present by my uncle who was over with family. I was aware Tomb had a reputation as a lost classic and for me as a ten year old it did not disappoint at all
I went to sit in the nearest cafe with wifi and watched them (with headphones on, I'm not a monster) and seeing Enemy #3, which I'd seen dozens of times since I was about ten, transition to Episode Four, and see the story *carry on* was like coming out of a time loop for the first time in centuries
