I feel I could have conveyed my thoughts a bit better here but TLDR - race hard, gorgeous view, cried a lot after, would do it all again. I swear I don't have a problem XD. Btw, I love my friends, you mean so much to me. Thank you.

In the end, the blood, sweat, and tears over the last 5 months of training was all worth it. I love you all, thank you for being there for me. Already thinking about the next one. Staying hungry and I want more! 🧵(10/10)

My partner was such a huge part of my success, I love him so much and I couldn't do it without him. When I was at my lowest, he was there to coach me and see me succeed in the end through all the bullshit I endured throughout training 🧵(9/10)

At the end of the race, I was physically and mentally exhausted. I ended up breaking down in tears. I can't thank my friends enough for being there for me and giving me the support I needed through all of this. You know who you are. It means everything, I love you all 🧵(8/10)

Here’s one of the major ascents I got a video of. It doesn’t do it justice with how pretty it was. The race had an overall elevation gain of 4.5K ft! 🧵 (6/10)

By mile 17, my left knee, not the one I injured, started to give me issues. It went from minor to fairly uncomfortable for the rest of the race. It was most likely a patellar tendon flare up, but battled thru it. More beautiful pics here 🧵 (5/10)

Start time was early and I felt good! No issues with the body early. The weather was perfect, cool and crisp the whole day! The course was so damn cool, had to go thru a few river crossing and get the paws wet. The climbs had the most gorgeous views of the mountains 🧵(3/??)

Gosh... Where to start. Crested Butte, CO was one of the, if not the, most spectacular places I've ever been. Especially during peak leaf season with the aspens changing colors. It felt like I was running in a painting the whole time, it was unreal 🧵(2/10)

Phew! What a weekend and race! I did it! I ran my first ultra marathon, a 55K trail race in a little over 8hrs! Battling back from injury to complete this race was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Gunna make a short thread of pics and my thoughts on the race 🧵(1/10)

Such a scenic day today! A nice relaxing time before the race tomorrow. Excited and nervous to run my first ultra trail race marathon. After my injury, I didn’t think I could, but happy I’m even able to run. Gunna give it my all!

Excited and nervous for my race this weekend. Body feels so much better since my knee injury, like 95% there. Putting the final touches on my training this week and gunna leave it all out on the course.
