13.09.2025 01:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I took a lot of photos of the Hoover Dam, but they're all like 1 step removed from the actual dam cause I didn't have the right lens or vantage rofl.
It's remarkable to realize this is a thing we just made once.

To commemorate this big trip with @skal666.bsky.social and @crissdragon.bsky.social, I commissioned this wonderful piece by @leggy2fast.art! π
It started out as stick figures on a post-it and turned into THIS :D Raf was incredible and captured so many amazing details, I can't stop looking at it!
A brown, tan and orange Klim moto helmet, yellow, blue and pink Shoei moto helmet, and a Cardo headset on a blue collar sit on a concrete table in front of an In-N-Out Burger restaurant.
We persevered, overcame our fears, and shared many a laugh along the way! I couldn't imagine making this trip with anyone else, @skal666.bsky.social & @sierralune.bsky.social, you girls are amazing π©΅ I love you both.
And that's a wrap! For now ;)
A white Africa Twin, gray Subaru BRZ, and red Triumph Tiger parked between two trees along a strip of green grass before a rocky beach in San Diego, CA. White clouds reflect on the water of the Pacific ocean, part of the city visible across the water.
No photos for Day 10, as it was well-deserved service for our incredible steeds, but Day 11...
We did it! Stuck our toes in the Pacific in San Diego! We've officially driven coast to coast in a truly unforgettable adventure. Through rain, shine and fire, forests, plains, mountains and desert...
Door-to-door, from home in Durham to storage in CA, 4300 miles and almost 100 gallons of gas π«‘ sleep well bby see u in the spring

4390 miles
84 hours and 27 minutes.
1 unforgettable trip.
A white Africa Twin, gray Subaru BRZ, and red Triumph Tiger with riders parked facing a massive Sequoia tree, the picture taken at a low angle but still couldn't fit the whole tree in frame. Smaller but still huge trees fill the sides and background of the photo.
Low angle photo of a person in a black snake shirt and shorts leaning against a wooden fence, the towering giant of the General Sherman Sequoia rising in the background and ascending out of frame.
A red Triumph Tiger, white Africa Twin, and grey Subaru BRZ parked along a cliff overlooking forested mountains partially obscured by a haze of smoke under a bright blue sky.
Day 9 is particularly special, and I'll remember it always. We crossed off one of my bucket list items, walking amongst the giants of Sequoia National Forest and King's Canyon. Pictures just don't do it justice, and the roads in the park are fantastically fun!

We did it! Rolled in to San Diego last night and hit the beach this morning. @crissdragon.bsky.social, @sierralune.bsky.social and I have completed our coast to coast from Wilmington NC to San Diego! We made so many memories!

A red Triumph Tiger, white Africa Twin, and gray Subaru BRZ parked in a line before a sharply climbing red and sandy tan cliff in the Badwater Basin of Death Valley. A tiny white sign near the top of the cliff just to the left of center of the picture marks Sea Level.
A motorcycle and rider on a narrow straight road disappears into the sand, red, tan, and white mountains in the distance under a white cloudy sky.
Two motorcycles with riders kick up clouds of sand down a narrow paved road that disappears into the horizon, sand and gravel with sparse shrubs to either side with dark hills on the right. Just visible in the distance is the shape of mountains, fading into the pale hazy blue of the sky.
Day 8 we escaped Vegas, descending into Death Valley. As someone that's lived most their life in the evergreen swamp of Florida, this is truly an alien landscape. Gravel and sand for as far as the eye can see, with sparse scraggly plants; beautiful in its own way!
And with that, we're now in Cali!
Its amazing how small the Grand Canyon makes you feel, both in size and time. We're all just dots on a huge planet living in a flash of time. We shouldn't worry about small things and enjoy life. We only get one.

Sierra with her white Africa Twin, Morgan with her red Triumph Tiger, and a gray Subaru BRZ atop an overlook at the Hoover Dam, backlight by a brilliant gold and blue sunset over the surrounding mountain cliffs at the end of the Grand Canyon.
We spent the rest of the day driving around it to get to Nevada, including a bit of Route 66 :D Witnessed the sunset from the top of the Hoover Dam, and arrived in Vegas just as the lights were ramping up. What an amazing day! Sirius was really photogenic, even if all the vehicles were dirty haha

Clouds and blue sky reflect off a gray Subaru BRZ parked in front of a stone wall, the red and gold layered cliffs of the Grand Canyon flowing into the distance beyond.
Where do I even begin with Day 7...so much happened, I can't pick just 4 photos! Spent all morning awestruck at the Grand Canyon, we literally bailed off the vehicles at the first overlook and stood at the edge gobsmacked. Absolutely beautiful. (Last photo π· @sierralune.bsky.social)
29.08.2025 15:47 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Day 7: Grand Canyon is real cool! We went to see it in the morning then spent the entire rest of the day driving around it to get to Vegas. After being in so much wilderness, Vegas has been complete sensory overload and I wish to escape to the mountains.
But first we gotta get through death valley!

Sandstone colored mountains with arid scubs.
Sandy-striped mountains behind a canyon with wild horses.
Day 6 the weather was definitely not in our favor. Winding mountain roads disappeared into clouds, which quickly turned into a torrential downpour. We thought we were in the clear once descending into Arizona...but then it stormed on us there, too!
28.08.2025 07:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 6: kind of a wash, sadly. Many of our adventures were washed out by rain (including our airbnb lol) and we didn't get a ton of photos. But we saw some buttes and some mesas, and made memories just in unexpected places. Who knew August was the rainy season in the desert??
27.08.2025 14:27 β π 14 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Happy Birthday, Duckie!!! π
27.08.2025 01:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 5: Denver to Pikes Peak to Ouray is a route that is so beautiful, words fail to do it justice. Mountains, prairie, lakes, rapids, the best we could come up with to describe it was "breathtaking." This state is breathtaking.

White fluffy clouds in a blue sky backdrop jagged mountains as far as the eye can see, a road winding through the valley between giants.
A gray Subaru BRZ, white Africa Twin, and red Triumph Tiger parked facing away from the camera, overlooking a ledge down into a valley and the huge mountains beyond. Light gray, fluffy clouds obscure most of the blue sky, their shadows dappling the landscape below.
The bright golds of a setting sun beam through hazy clouds over sloping dunes and mountains, a road curving around the edge of the photo before them. Two small motorcycles are visible on the road to the right.
And Day 5...I don't have words to capture how truly breathtakingly beautiful the Rockies are. It was a long drive, but it didn't feel like it; every curve brought a new discovery that just boggled the mind. From climbing Pike's Peak and beyond...I am awed.

Day 3: we made it across The Big Flat! 16ish hours including stops, from St Louis to Denver. It was exhausting, and boring, but also beautiful. We had about an hour of setting sun and brilliant sun-rays (πΈ: @crissdragon.bsky.social), one of my favorite sights so far.
2k miles in... now we rest!
Two motorcycle riders on a seemingly endless stretch of highway with windmills in the distance and rays of sunlight coming through the clouds.
A red Triumph Tiger, white Africa Twin, and gray Subaru BRZ parked along a sidewalk with a beautiful blue sky and fluffy clouds in the background.
Silhouette of two motorcycles in front of the setting sun, the sky full of orange, pink, purple and blue tones with a few clouds.
White windmills in green rolling hills with a bright blue sky, looking like a Windows desktop background.
Day 3 was a doozy, 16 hours straight, but we made it to Colorado! Saw many a windmill and corn in every direction as far as the eye could see xD Gorgeous sunset after crossing the state line!
Now for a rest day exploring Denver with friends!
Day 2 is done and so is Day 3. Im now 3 hours away from Denver and Im SO excited!
