We were able to identify Andry exiting the plane in Venezuela. After 125 days in a torture prison in El Salvador, he has been released & sent back to the country he initially fled.

We will keep fighting for justice for Andry.

Today is day 110 since Andry Hernandez Romero was disappeared to CECOT in El Salvador. Kilmar has now confirmed what we have feared since 3/15 — Andry has almost certainly endured 110 days of torture.

We need proof of life. He needs to be brought back now.

Andry’s case is bigger than him. While we fight to save his life & undo this travesty of justice, we also fight for the future of our democracy. We fight for due process & for the rule of law. We fight for Andry but also know his fight is one that none of us can afford to lose.

It is our hope that soon Judge Boasberg will order the return of Andry, our other clients at CECOT & all of the men unjustly imprisoned there. Like so many following his case, I wake up every day and think of Andry. We are not giving up until he is safe and free. #BringThemBack

In last 100 days Trump admin moved to further erase Andry by getting his asylum case dismissed. But we are still fighting for his return and the return of all the men sent with no due process to CECOT. Andry is now one of the lead plaintiffs in JGG v. Trump which remains pending.

It is day 100 since Andry was disappeared by Trump admin to a gulag in El Salvador. 100 days since this photo was snapped while he begged for his mom. 100 days of wondering if he is still alive. We’re still waiting for the devastatingly slow wheels of justice to turn. #FreeAndry

After more than 15 hours of attorneys advocating at the federal building since yesterday, @immdef.bsky.social client Javier is finally free. He is now on his way to his chemo appointment with his nephew. He let us know he is so grateful to everyone who fought for his release. ❤️

10 hours after @immdef.bsky.social got here to advocate for Javier’s release, we are leaving w/out him. We fought all day, talked to every ICE officer we could. But they won’t say whether they’ll release tonight, & even if they do, won’t give a time estimate. We will be back to fight again tomorrow!

The team at @immdef.bsky.social is currently working on dozens of cases of people picked up in the last 24 hours in LA.

Among them is Javier, who has cancer & will miss his chemo tomorrow if ICE continues to detain him. He has lived in LA for more than 20 years and has no criminal history.

The last time loved ones spoke with Andry "was from a US detention facility on March 14. After he was moved out of the country, he had not been heard from since.”

Our fight for justice for Andry and the 235+ other human beings who were illegally rendered to CECOT with no due process carries on.

We know the only fight we are guaranteed to lose is the one we give up on. And the ImmDef team is not giving up until we #FreeAndry.

Tomorrow will be 40 days since Andry disappeared. Despite calls for his release & information on his condition from Gov Newsom, Rep García, Rep Takano, Rep Frost, Rep Dexter, Rep Ansari & more he continues to be held completely incommunicado, w/ no access to his family or lawyers.

ICE also filed a change of address today which ironically is first doc that confirms Andry’s rendition was pursuant to AEA. We noted in court it mistakenly says last place of detention was SD, not TX. Shocking how sloppy ICE is in a case that has garnered such public attention.

Release form ICE filed is not a removal order. We asked if they could provide an actual removal order, & ICE attorney responded “I will need to check with management.”

Judge noted our opposition to the dismissal and gave us a new hearing in late May to allow time for briefing.

Despite disappearing Andry 5 weeks ago, Govt filed motion to dismiss 44 minutes b4 today’s hearing. Only evidence in support of motion is this “Verification of Removal” dated 3/15.
