If he said over two months ago that he changed his position, why is it still an “awkward” stance? Is there some point where it stops being awkward, or does that label just stick forever? Calling it awkward kind of implies hypocrisy, but leaves out the fact that he already acknowledged the change.
The conversation about Plattner reflects the same dynamic seen in debates about AI: for many people, any statement that isn’t unequivocal condemnation, even if neutral or innocuous, is taken as implicit support.
