Substack’s extremist ecosystem is flourishing The app's recent swastika push alert was just the tip of the iceberg.

It’s clear you put considerable effort into your newsletter. However, Substack raises significant moral and ethical concerns that you may or may not be aware of. www.thehandbasket.co/p/substack-e...

I'm more understanding. The comments reflect frustration with the current religious conservatism that many feel is eroding our rights. When even the opposition says prayer guides them, you can see why some would lash out believing we face either no alternative or a milder form of the same politics.

Vital City | Guess What? Government Is Already in the Grocery Business. Zohran Mamdani’s campaign promise is not nearly as outlandish as his critics suggest.

Is @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's idea to open some government-run groceries really that outlandish? CUNY prof. Nevin Cohen says no. www.vitalcitynyc.org/articles/gov...

It's wild that we still lack real accountability after everything that has happened. I would expect a breaking point, yet they keep pushing boundaries with no end in sight.

Well, he’s already made his fortune, or at least his so-called 'net worth' in a largely unregulated space, so the pivot feels natural. He’ll probably do it in some off-the-grid lab anyway. That’s just how guys like him operate, and there isn’t enough political will to definitively put a stop to it.

If you're into thought-provoking, beautifully written speculative fiction, HIM by Geoff Ryman is an underrated gem that deserves way more buzz.

Ha ha! The other Tim and I were refencing Manimal just yesterday. Not even on a full season and yet still a point of reference 30 years later, even more so than some actual hit shows. Legendary.

I usually just skate whatever works and doesn’t look awful, so I’m not super tuned into shoe aesthetics. But I’m curious, what makes the Reynolds shoe an β€œold head” pro model to you? It doesn’t seem that different from what other brands are putting out, or am I missing something?
