On the other hand, Claude told me today it couldn’t tell the time and I might be better off Googling that 🤷

Absolutely loving Small Prophets, it’s training a lot of will power not to binge it all in one go. Just what the world needs right now. Funny, beautifully observed whimsical. In fact Detectorists and Small Prophets are the balm to the dopamine rollercoaster of doom scrolling.

Great chance to quiz Tara about this year's @beyondconference.org (23-25 Nov, 2026) if you're considering joining us in Salford / Greater Manchester. We'd love to welcome even more international guests this year!

What makes this even more challenging is how poorly “influencer” work maps to regular jobs / careers with only a small percentage able to do it full time, with many slogging away as a side hustle. I’d guess a substantial chunk of the economic value is likely invisible to existing economic analysis.

We tried to find this data when doing background research for @beyondconference.org - there’s little info aside from YouTube and TikTok’s funded studies from Oxford Economics. We worked out a methodology for a more general measurement but no funding available to support the research.

Traitors. So good. But possibly the least helpful bit of scheduling in modern history. How am I supposed to convince over tired kids they can watch it on catchup without hearing spoilers at school 🤯

Rather than unlocking UK community power, successive govts' digital policies have been focussed on Silicon Valley-style success.

By me for @powertochange.org.uk, on why digital social policy is a necessary building block for a stronger society

100% read this and thought it was a fantastic initiative for Chesterfield UK, then twigged that was the US. Still I bet a Latino market would go down a treat over here!

I haven’t played with it yet, but isn’t this the main thang for ChatGPT’s Codex tool? Feels like a mix of the two would be ideal.

Worth looking at how Quebec are approaching this. They’re looking at laws to compel manufacturers to including PBS buttons on remotes as well.
