So many parents abuse their children because that's the only relationship or system in their lives where they have power. If you put those people in charge of anything from a country to a book group, they'll abuse that power.

Believe and support victims. Consequences for abusers.

I try to give people space for their religious trauma, but "no religion" isn't the answer to anything. There are certain people who will corrupt any kind of system with a power imbalance. We need to change laws and societal norms so that those people face consequences. That's the only solution.

I'm not entirely sure how they did it, but they've completely cleared the streets around my office in Midtown #NYC.
