We are spending $2 billion/day fighting on the other side of the world on the same day we hear unemployment has rising, gas prices have skyrocketed, and Americans have been ignored.
Yesterday, the war was costing Americans $1 billion per day.
Today that figure has been ratcheted up to $2 billion per day.
Tomorrow, you can be assured that the war will be costing Americans $4 billion per day.
That’s money that could be going towards schools or healthcare or infrastructure.
There are Many Items of Note in today’s Law Dork, including:
- the substance of the show cause hearing in the trans prison care case, including Royce Lamberth quotes
- a Royce Lamberth story
- an after-court “emergency” filing that DOJ didn’t even mention at the hearing
- several off-putting moments

The second, final Supreme Court decision is Galette v. NJ Transit. Per Sotomayor's unanimous opinion, NJ Transit is NOT an arm of NJ and thus NOT entitled to sovereign immunity.

All else aside, it’s hard to describe how disingenuous this comparison is. SJL faked letters of support to duck a state legislative ethics probe. Peters participated in a plot to undermine Colorado’s elections and has spent her brief time in prison getting in fights and earning write-ups.
